State wrestling playoffs

How does your favorite team stack up the first night of playoffs?

4A
Knightdale vs Southview
Sanderson vs Scotland

Laney vs N Durham
Cary vs WC (Wake Forest?)

West Johnson vs Holly Springs
Jack Britt vs Millbrook

Jordan vs WC (Panther Creek?)
Pne cest vs New Bern

3A
Cleveland vs SNash W Carteret vs WC

2A Corinth Holders vs Swansboro DSA vs WC NRowan vs Dixon NCSSM vs Ayden Griffen I heard Panther Creek may be down one of their better wrestlers and I saw Corinth Holders 285 injury defaulted out of a match Saturday, but I do not know his status. Hopefully it was not serious. Injuries play such a huge role this time of year. Good luck to all the area teams!

4A ME individual regionals will be held at Lee County. Who qualifies will be annouced at the seed meeting.

I think wrestling playoffs are the hardest of any sport in high school. There are no 16th seeds to get in, no 8th seeds to get in. Its 1 and 2 and then a wild card. Like in football, you can go 6-6 and finish 5th in the conference and get in. Wrestling its basically 1 and 2 in each conference. There are no easy first round matches, no play in matches...nothing. Its on from the first match of the tournament. Makes it quite entertaining.

Tough loss for Cleveland to Southern Nash, 39-37. Injuries really hurt Cleveland this year.
