    Weight classes: 106,113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, and 285.

Its a great sport for all skill levels. Anyone wanting to be a good wrestler can be one within a couple of years. You must have a desire to work harder than you've ever worked in any sport. Its a matter of being mentally and physically tough. ALL body types have been successful, short, tall, muscled up or long and lanky, they are all good!

Usually the wrestling teams keep everyone who comes out. Least thats what i have seen from all the matches i have been to. There are several reasons for it. Starters get hurt, cant make weight and other factors so others on the team have to step up.
There are 14 weight classes. I do not think its a tough sport to pick up, however nothing beats experience and mat time. There are countless moves, techniques and whatnot you can learn but it has been shown that if you are just a beast as far as strength goes, you can do well in your weight class with knowing a handful of basic moves.

I am not sure about cuts. I have seen teams with 50+ people on their squad.

Talk with the wrestling coach at your school. He will be able to answer all of your questions.

How many are on the roster?
what are some of the weight classes?
Generally, is it a difficult sport to pick up?
    Do most teams have cuts?

I am wondering because I am thinking about possibly doing this next year on top of football, but have never wrestled before. Thanks
