Coaches GONE Wild!

RE: Coaches GONE Wild!

Just because you go complain, doesnt mean anything going to be done. 75% of the time its the parents that are the problem. They think little johnny is going to tbe next MJ, or little Johnny was talked to ugly. The bottom line its the Coaches team not the parents or the AAU coaches (that most of them are always telling the parents that their kids high school coach doesnt know what hes doing).

RE: Coaches GONE Wild!

Clearly, this thread took a turn in the wrong direction somewhere! This thread was created to say, I'm in disbelief how a particular Coach has made it their personal business to VERBUALLY try to tear down a Coach and his players! It doesn't matter if their feelings were hurt, no parents were involved, AAU is not an issue or any of that. It simply means that Coaches need to be more professional and need to be held at a higher standard. Yes, we know that SOME parents are OUT of CONTROL, that's a whole other topic of discussion! SOME of these athletic programs need to be evaluated, and the decision to hire a Coach or AD need not be done over a martini or the good ole' boy system!

RE: Coaches GONE Wild!

Ibeck you nailed it, but IluvBasketball AAU can lead up to issues, coaching aau myself, I have been disgusted with few local programs. But in which I do agree that many programs need to be evaluated, which is not a parents job. And what did the coach say to the other coach, im just curious.

RE: Coaches GONE Wild!

I think the coach, whos been verbually attacked can take care of his/herself.JMO

RE: Coaches GONE Wild!

hsfootballraleigh out of respect for everyone involved and Nick asking that I not post the name or comment here, I won't do that. And lbeck37439 I'm 100% sure that the Coach can handle his/herself, however when you factor in children, it makes it a little bit more harder to swallow. A lot of kids don't handle adversity well, heck a lot of adults don't handle it well. At the end of the day, everyone involved directly or indirectly need to be mindful of how and what you say about children! JMO as well!

RE: Coaches GONE Wild!

Most of the coaches that I've interacted with and worked with coach the player not the person. I feel like the kid is the only one who is hurt when a parent makes comments or emails coaches, the kids can't understand that the coach isn't going to hold a grudge against that kid. The best players play its simple math. Every coach has their own style some are more aggressive than others if the kids can't handle that style or adapt then the school might not be for the kid.
