At Green Hope High School, Garner and Apex managed to get in 46 full minutes of play before the game was suspended. The Cougars led Garner 1-0 at the time of suspension, and that score stood as the final score of the game.

The game-winning goal for Apex came in the 19th minute from Matt Greico.

With lightning in the distance, the game was suspended with 33:47 left in the match. Teams were sent to the locker rooms while fans took shelter in their vehicles. Just before 7 p.m. the game was made final.

Officials had hoped to play the Millbrook-Green Hope game later Monday evening, but that game was eventually postponed until Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

The Wake County Cup games at Sanderson High School were also impacted by the weather on Monday. Heritage and Cardinal Gibbons made it to halftime where the two teams were in a 1-1 tie before the game was suspended.

Sanderson is slated to play Raleigh Charter at 7 p.m.
