Weather forces cancellation of one game at Holiday Invitational

Raleigh, N.C. — A team from New Jersey was stranded by airline delays forcing the cancellation of one game on the Dec. 26 slate at the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational.
A coin toss was held this afternoon at Broughton with Holly Springs coaches in attendance. Holly Springs called the toss in the air and lost the toss. This means St. Joseph will move on to the winners bracket, Holly Springs to the consolation bracket.
St. Joseph High School, from Metuchen, N.J., is a key draw because of the presence of Karl Towns. Towns, a junior, recently committed to play his college ball at the University of Kentucky. He is widely regarded as the top player in the Class of 2014.
Towns and the Falcons were slated to meet Holly Springs Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. in the Summit Hospitality bracket of the 2012 Holiday Invitational. When they could not get their flight out of New Jersey, that game was canceled.
