Wake Forest High School will host the Lane Meyer and Wade Halford Memorial Jamboree on Saturday at the WRAL Soccer Park in Raleigh.

The soccer jamboree will consist of a number of games, 40-minutes in length, featuring some of the area's top soccer teams.

Meyer was a soccer player at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School where he played for coach Jeremiah Mattingly. Meyer was killed in a car accident on the last day of his junior year on June 5, 2011.

Halford was a member of Franklinton High School's Class of 2007 where he played soccer for coach Deran Coe. Halford, a Marine, was less than two months away from graduation at N.C. State University when he died in a car accident.

The proceeds from Saturday's event will go to fund scholarships in the names of Meyer and Halford at their respective high schools.

There is no admission for the event, but there will be tables set up for people to make donations. Concessions will be sold on site. A portion of the money made at concessions will also help fund the scholarships.
