Southern Durham High School running back William Cameron picked up an offer on Thursday.

According to Southern Durham coach Darius Robinson, Cameron was offered by Wake Forest University.

Cameron, a member of the Class of 2015, made a verbal commitment to West Virginia University in November after the Mountaineers extended an offer in June.

At 5-foot-10 and 180-pounds, Cameron rushed for nearly nearly 1,000 yards last season for the Spartans, earning Big Eight All-Conference honors.

Cameron also returned kickoffs for the Spartans last season, posting over 500 return yards and three touchdowns.

Southern Durham completed the season with a 14-2 overall record, winning the 3-AA N.C. High School Athletic Association state championship.
