UNC offers Wake Forest defensive lineman

Posted July 29, 2013

Wake Forest High School defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is a rising-sophomore and has completed just one season of varsity football, but he is already getting plenty of recruiting attention.

Lawrence received an offer from North Carolina on Saturday, according to Wake Forest Head Coach Reggie Lucas.

Lawrence was a standout player on the Cougar defensive line last season as a freshman.

The 6-foot-5, 290 pound run-stopper is already being recognized for his talents. On top of the UNC offer, he also has offers from Clemson and Arkansas.

Wake Forest recorded a 9-3 overall record last season. The Cougars went 5-2 in the Cap-8 4A Conference and fell to Wakefield High School in the first round of the state playoffs.

The headline is awful... "UNC offers Wake Forest defensive lineman"... what did they want in return? Who are they to offer another team's player? Come-on, WRAL, use proper english and leave no doubt what you are trying to say.

He has the size and obvious skills to play this game. Best wishes.
