Two football players are among five student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent at Fuquay-Varina High School on Wednesday afternoon.
Trevor Phillips and Tyler Williams both signed to continue their football careers. Phillips will attend UNC-Pembroke, while Williams will play at Lenoir-Rhyne.
Phillips, who played tackle and nose guard for the Bengals, stands at 6-foot-2 and 270 pounds.
Williams played quarterback for Fuquay-Varina, but can also play the running back and corner back positions. According to ESPN.com, Williams ran the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, and stands at 6-foot and 185 pounds.
Two boys soccer players also signed letters of intent at Fuquay-Varina. Dean Rutherford signed with UNC-Charlotte, while Keith Gorman signed with UNC-Asheville.
Valerie Biesack signed to play girls soccer at Queens.
