The pairings are set for eight NCHSAA state football championship games next weekend.
The action kicked off Friday night at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill when New Bern defeated Porter Ridge, 39-38, in the Class 4-A game.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m., there are three games:
* Jack Britt (13-2) faces David Butler (14-0) in Chapel Hill for the 4-AA title. HighSchoolOT.com will host a live chat beginning at 10:30 a.m.
* Tarboro (14-0) defends its 2-A title against 15-0 East Lincoln at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem. HighSchoolOT.com will host a live chat beginning at 10:30 a.m.
* Plymouth (14-1) and Murphy (13-2) meet in the 1-A game at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh.
At 3 p.m., Havelock (14-1) and Concord (13-2) meet in the 3-A game in Winston-Salem.
At the same time, Southwest Onslow (13-1) and Swain County (15-0) pair off at Carter-Finley for the 1-AA championship.
Carrboro (15-0) and the South Iredell Vikings (13-2) meet in the nightcap, kicking off at 7 p.m. at Carter-Finley for the 2-AA title. HighSchoolOT.com will host a live chat beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Northern Guilford (14-0) takes on Charlotte Catholic (13-1) for the 3-AA title at 7 p.m. in Winston-Salem.
For scoreboard purposes, bench areas and jerseys, the Eastern representatives are designated as home teams for these championship games.
