HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational
FINAL St Mark's 79 Miller 70: It was raining 3s in the first game of the final day of the 2011 HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational as St Mark's claimed 5th place in the Summit Hospitality Bracket with a hard fought victory over Miller School.
Both teams combined for a new Holiday Invitational record of 20 three pointers (each school making 10 apiece).
We saw a see saw battle in the first half with Miller running out to a 37-33 lead at halftime. After Miller stretched it to 7 points, St Marks went on a 11-1 run to take the lead 44-41 midway thru the third quarter. Leading 50-49 going into the 4th quarter, the Lions were able to pull around from Miller behind 17 points from Nik Stauskus. Stauskus, a Michigan commit finished the game with a game high 28 points.
Miller was led in scoring by 25 points from Kansas recruit Andrew White.

END 3Q St Mark's 50 Miller 49: We have a barn burner here in the 5th place game of the Summit Hospitality Bracket between St Mark's and Miller. St Mark's, who had not led since early in the 1st quarter, took a 44-41 lead midway thru the 3rd quarter on a 11-1 run, sparked by point guard Jaymie Spears.
Spears chipped in 5 points in the frame, and had a couple of nice passes to the big man, Tarczewski which led to easy baskets for the Lions. Tarczewski now has 13 points for the game. White has poured in 20 points for Miller School.

HALFTIME Miller 37 St Mark's 33: Both schools continue their torrid pace from the field, as the Mavericks are clinging to a 4 point lead at the half over the Lions of St Mark's.
Miller stretched the lead to 31-21 midway thru the 2nd quarter, but a 12-4 run by the Lions, punctuated by 2 emphatic dunks for Kaleb Tarczewski, put the Lions right back into the game.
Miller is led in scoring by 12 points each from Chase Cannon and Andrew White. St Mark's has had a balanced attack thus far, receiving 8 points from Kaleb Tarczewski, Nik Stauskus and Aaron Falzon
END 1Q Miller 23 St Mark's 17: We are off to a blazing start in Game 1 today between the Miller Mavericks and St Mark's Lions. The two teams have combined for 6 three pointers thus far. It's safe to say that both teams are playing at probably their highest level thus far on the offensive side of the ball.
PREGAME: The final day of the 2011 HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational begins today from Broughton High School as St Mark's is set to to tangle with Miller School for 5th place of the Summit Hospitality Bracket.
Miller, led by Kansas recruit Andrew White, sits 1-1 in the tournament thus far, and are coming off an impressive victory over Body of Christ. White led the Mavericks with 22 points as Miller took what was a close game at halftime against BOC and ran away with a 87-63 victory.
St. Marks, led by Arizona recruit Kaleb Tarczewski, also sits 1-1 in the tournament thus far. The Lions took down Greenfield School on Thursday with a 64-58 victory over the Knights. Like the Mavericks, St Marks used a big 2nd half to turn a close game into a comfortable victory. Tarczewski finished with a game high 22 points.
