Southern Durham High School defensive back Owen Lucas III has made his college decision.

According to Southern football coach Adrian Jones, Lucas has verbally committed to Gardner-Webb University.

Lucas, an all conference selection in the PAC 6 Conference, posted 108 tackles, nine pass break-ups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one sack.

At 5-foot-11, Lucas, a senior, helped the Spartans to a 6-5 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in the PAC 6.
