North Carolina State University offered a scholarship to Hinton this weekend, according to Southern Durham football coach Adrian Jones.

Hinton has helped Southern Durham to an 11-2 overall record this season. The Spartans won the Big Eight 3-A Conference title and defeated Cardinal Gibbons on Friday night to advance to the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-AA state playoffs.

So far this season, Hinton has passed for nearly 3,500 yards and rushed for over 1,000 yards.

Hinton is a member of the Class of 2015 and stands at  6-foot and 180 pounds.

Duke has also offered Hinton, and he is receiving interest from a number of other Division-I schools.

Southern Durham will host Orange in the third round of the state playoffs on Nov. 29. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.

I hope he takes the Duke offer - it offers the most 'bankable' degree and is also well-coached. Every great HS baller has that dream of playing in the NFL, but sadly the odds are slim. A Duke degree helps to carve a good future regardless of how he performs at the collegiate level.
