Southeast Raleigh wide receiver Dante Jones made his verbal commitment official on Wednesday.
Jones, a 5-foot-10 and 175-pound senior, signed his National Letter of Intent with Appalachian State after committing in December.
According to ESPN.com, Jones is a 3-star player.
Picking up Jones was a big get for the Mountaineers. Jones picked Appalachian State over an offer from Duke. He also had interest from some smaller schools.
As a senior, Jones posted 750 receiver yards, scoring 11 touchdowns. He also ran for 150 yards and one touchdown. As a defensive back, Jones recorded 47 tackles and five interceptions.
Last season, Southeast Raleigh compiled a 6-6 record, including a 3-4 mark in the Greater Neuse River 4-A Conference. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the state playoffs.
