Maykel Lopez scores off cross for Northern Durham
Cedar Ridge, Northern Durham finish in 2-2 draw

Cedar Ridge and Northern Durham ended the night in 2-2 an overtime tie. The Red Wolves opened the game strong with a goal in the third minute. From ten yards out Jake Brown placed his shot in the right hand corner with an assist from Brandon Garcia. The Knights didn't waste much time to respond to that goal. During the eighth minute Erickson Bonilla put a cross a few yards in front of the goal to set up Maykel Lopez for the score. In the the 13th minute there was a lightning delay that set the game back 30 minutes. Following the delay the teams slowed down until an electrifying last ten minutes of regulation. Northern capitalized on a free kick from across the field that was able to slither through defenders. This led to an easy breakaway goal for Faustino Chavez giving the Knights the advantage in the 74th minute. Within the closing minutes of the game Cedar Ridge scored the final goal of the game. A far out pass from Gavin Hughes put Brown in position for chip over the goalkeeper's head for his second score of the night. During the extra time period both teams traded strong shots at the goal but neither were able to find the back of the net. The Knights and Fighting Red Wolves would have to settle for a 2-2 tie. After tonight's tie Cedar Ridge moves to 4-12-1 and will play at East Chapel Hill on Monday Oct. 16th for a 6:30pm start time. Northern Durham is now 10-6-1 and will be on the road again versus Northwood on Monday Oct. 16th to kick off at 6:30pm.
