Rolesville selects 'Rams' as mascot
Posted February 26, 2013
Rolesville High School has selected its mascot and school colors.
When the school opens its doors for the first time this fall, Rolesville's sports teams will wear cardinal red, black and silver, and will be nicknamed the "Rams."
Next year, Rolesville will be made up of only freshmen and sophomores, but is expected to field varsity teams in each sport except for football. The football program will only have a junior varsity team next season. Rolesville will join the varsity ranks in football in the 2014 season.
Rolesville will be a member of the Greater Neuse River 4-A Conference, joining Clayton, East Wake, Garner, Harnett Central, Knightdale, Southeast Raleigh and West Johnston. Smithfield-Selma is leaving the conference and moving down to the 3-A classification.
Tommy Moore, the head boys basketball coach and athletic director at Enloe High School, was hired earlier this year as the first athletic director at Rolesville.
Last week, Millbrook assistant football coach Jermaine Evans was hired as the head football coach.
Other coaches will be hired in the coming weeks and months.
