Carrboro trailed 3-0 early Friday night in the 2-AA NCHSAA football playoffs but managed to make up the difference to advance to the state semifinal game against Northside-Jax.
Carrboro QB Alex McVeigh hit Trai Sharp on a 15-yard pass to get on the board. The Jags led 6-3.
The teams traded scores and stood 13-10 when Devonte Williams put Reidsville up 16-13 on the QB keeper.
With under three minutes to play, Sharp knocked in from six yards out for the difference-maker. The final: 20-16.
Next week's game pits two unbeatens – the Jaguars and Northside are both the top seeds in their pods.
