Posted December 14, 2012

Ravenscroft named Dena Floyd the varsity girls soccer team. Floyd joins the Ravens after serving as Women’s Assistant Soccer Coach at N.C. State from 2009-2012.

Floyd graduated with a B.A. from the University of Florida, where she helped lead the Gators to two Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament championships (2000 and 2001). In addition, the Gators qualified for the NCAA College Cup in 2001. She was tri-captain of the team in 2003.

Prior to coaching at N.C. State, Floyd was a Strength and Conditioning Specialist at Stanford University from 2005-09, where she directed all aspects of the strength and conditioning programs for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming, women’s lacrosse, field hockey, and squash.

Floyd is active in the community, serving as a volunteer for both Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Triangle, and for Girls on the Run of the Triangle.

“We are delighted to have Dena Floyd join our staff,” said Athletics Director Ned Gonet. “She brings a great deal of experience as a player and coach at both the high school and collegiate level, and I believe she will maintain the quality of play and success of our program.”
