Millbrook High School quarterback Lemar Harris made a commitment on Friday evening, and it was to an in-state school.
Harris has verbally committed to Wake Forest University, according to Millbrook football coach Clarence Inscore.
At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Harris, a member of the Class of 2014, runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds. As a junior last season, Harris threw for over 1,000 yards for the Wildcats.
Wake Forest offered Harris a scholarship in July. He also has an offer from Campbell, and he was receiving interest from a number of other schools.
Last season, Millbrook compiled a 3-8 overall record including a 2-5 mark in the Cap 8 4-A Conference.
Harris will lead his Wildcats into the HighSchoolOT.com Jamboree at Southeast Raleigh on Saturday, Aug. 17, where they will face Green Hope at 1:15 p.m.
Millbrook opens the season on Aug. 23, at Fuquay-Varina.
