Since the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational in December, Person's boys basketball team went on a six-game losing streak.
The preseason favorite to win the PAC 6 Conference all of a sudden found itself in a slide with the potential to miss the playoffs all together.
But Person has stopped the skid, stringing together five wins, including three this week.
On Friday, the Rockets defeated Hillside, the No. 2 team in the conference, 78-70. Now Hillside and Person are tied with two conferences losses each.
Person led Hillside 36-32 at halftime, the the Rockets held on for the win in the second half.
UNC-Greensboro recruit Tyrone Outlaw, Jr., led Person with 29 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists.
Person will host Jordan next Friday in a huge conference game. The Falcons are the conference leader, two games ahead of Person and Hillside at 9-0.
Hillside still has six games left to the play in the final two weeks of the regular season, thanks to games being postponed for inclement weather last month. The Hornets will travel to Jordan on Tuesday.
