NC State offers Carrboro RB Sharp

Carrboro High School running back Trai Sharp has picked up an offer from NC State, Jason Tudryn, head football coach at Carrboro, said Thursday.

Sharp helped the Jaguars to an appearance in the 2-AA state championship game last season as a sophomore.

During the 2012 season, Sharp rushed for 2,291 yards and 33 touchdowns and posted 482 receiving yards with four touchdowns. On special teams, Sharp recorded 379 return yards, including one score.

A member of the Class of 2015, Sharp stands at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds.

Carrboro posted a 15-1 record, including a perfect mark in the Carolina 12 Conference. The Jaguars' only loss came to South Iredell in the state finals, 30-27. Carrboro led late until South Iredell scored the game-winning touchdown with 19 seconds left.
