Millbrook linebacker James Smith-Williams received an offer from N.C. State on Thursday morning, according to the Wildcat football program.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound defensive player recorded 70 tackles and ten tackles for loss while recovering four fumbles during his junior season at Millbrook in 2013.
The offer is Smith-Williams' first from the Atlantic Coast Conference, though the rising senior has a number of other offers from schools including Davidson, Elon, Charleston Southern, James Madison, Mercer and Western Carolina.
Last season, Millbrook played to a 10-4 record and went 5-2 in the Cap-8 Conference before falling to Wake Forest in the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs in quadruple overtime.
Millbrook's 2014 season kicks off Aug. 22 with a home game against the Fuquay-Varina Bengals. The Wildcats will also compete in the HighSchoolOT.com Jamboree against Jack Britt on Aug. 16 at Cardinal Gibbons.
