When Rolesville High School opens its doors for the first time this fall, the athletic department will be led by someone with experience.
Tommy Moore, the boys basketball coach and athletic director at Enloe High School, said Monday that he has been hired as the first athletic director at Rolesville.
Moore has led the Eagles to much success as the basketball coach and athletic director. The boys basketball team has made state playoff runs, appearances in the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational, and has produced players such as Melvin Tabb (Wake Forest) and Emanuel "Poobie" Chapman (NC Central).
This summer, Moore will serve as an assistant coach for the East boys basketball team at the N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star Games.
One of the first things Moore will do at Rolesville is help select the school's first head football coach. The position has already been listed on the Wake County Public Schools website.
Enloe is already looking for Moore's replacement too.
The WCPSS website lists the Enloe boys basketball and athletic director positions as vacant.
Moore will remain as the head basketball coach at Enloe for the remainder of the season.
Rolesville will open in August for students. The school will start with just freshmen and sophomores, but is expected to play varsity sports in all sports the first year, except for football.
The school will be a member of the Greater Neuse River 4-A Conference.
More to come...
