Minger named athletic director at Broughton

Posted August 21, 2013

Broughton High School has selected its new athletic director.

According to Principal Steve Mares, the school has hired Aaron Minger to lead the athletic department. He replaces Jack Spain, who will retire at the end of the month.

Minger has served as the athletic trainer at Broughton for the last several years under Spain.

Spain announced his retirement earlier this month. At the time of the announcement, Mares said he hoped to have a new athletic director in place the day Spain leaves the school – Aug. 31.

The fall sports season began on Aug. 1. The Capitals will host their first home football game of the season on Sept. 6, against Garner.

Broughton is also the host of the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational.
