Rolesville High School has selected its first head football coach.
Athletic director Tommy Moore said Thursday that Millbrook assistant football coach Jermaine Evans will lead the new football program.
Evans has 10 years of teaching and coaching experience, including the last seven years at Millbrook. Last season, Evans served as the offensive coordinator for the Wildcats.
A Raleigh native, Evans played high school football at Ravenscroft School before going to Elon University where he played four years at defensive back.
Rolesville will open to students this fall, but will initially include only freshmen and sophomores. The football program will only field a junior varsity team next season, but is expected to field a varsity team for the 2014 season.
Rolesville will be a member of the Greater Neuse River 4-A Conference.
