Week one of the high school basketball season has concluded, and the first regular season polls of the season are out.

Millbrook remains the top team in both the boys and girls poll.

The boys poll was unchanged in spots No. 1-6. Green Hope jumped from No. 10 to No. 7 after a win over Southeast Raleigh last week.

Apex dropped out of the poll after a 26-point loss to Leesville Road last Tuesday. The Cougars were ranked No. 7. Smithfield-Selma moved into the poll at No. 10 after a 2-0 start.

In the girls poll, Holly Springs moved up to No. 2 after starting the season with a win over Wakefield. Hillside dropped to No. 4 after a loss last week to Dudley, and Green Hope dropped to No. 5 after a loss to Southeast Raleigh.

Southeast Raleigh jumped to No. 3.

Both Jordan and Cary fell out of the girls poll this week, leaving room for Cardinal Gibbons and Panther Creek to move into the poll.
