— Middle Creek Mustang rising senior quarterback Brant Grisel has received his first college offer, according to head coach Mike Castellano.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound leader of the Mustang offense has been offered by Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania. The Saint Francis Red Flash competes in the Northeast Conference.

Last season was Grisel's first as a varsity starter. He threw for 3,383 yards and 37 touchdowns while helping Middle Creek to the 4-AA eastern regional final of the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs.

Grisel's senior season will begin when Middle Creek takes the field against the Garner Trojans on Aug. 22.
