— Clayton standout wide receiver Devin Carter has received a scholarship offer from Michigan State, the junior announced Tuesday via Twitter.

The Spartans’ coaching staff began contacting Carter last week, sources told HighSchoolOT.com Tuesday morning.

Carter led the Comets with 78 catches for 1,167 yards and 15 touchdowns in his junior campaign.

He also became first wide receiver in North Carolina history with a touchdown reception in eight-straight games last season.

Carter has garnered interest from all three Atlantic Coast Conference football programs in the Triangle, having attended Duke, North Carolina and NC State’s on-campus junior days.

The standout junior has also recently taken unofficial visits to Clemson, South Carolina and Wake Forest.
