NFL is again the most popular sport in America, a survey of 2,331 adults by Harris Interactive showed.
For at least the ninth consecutive year of such election, was a professional footballer as the favorite sport among the respondents.
Thirty-one percent of respondents said that professional football was his favorite sport, baseball record 17%.
This represents a reduction of the gap between the two sports. Last year, football was a lead of 19 percentage points when he collected 35% of the votes of those polled, compared to 16% of baseball.
However, support for football and baseball have grown pulled back since Harris first asked the survey in 1985. Then, 24% of respondents indicated that their favorite soccer and baseball 23%.
NFL has seen TV ratings sky-high this season to go along with its status as the most popular sport in America.
An average of 17.9 million viewers watched each game during the regular season . This was the highest since 1989.
