If Lake Norman can dictate pace and neutralize Page's talent, they'll have a chance. Page won a tough one yesterday, against West Charlotte where Page was simply 'out toughed'. Page's talent level is substantial...

RE: (28-2) Page vs (27-1) Lake Norman

Team beats talent VERY often. Apex has a lot of talent but not so much height. LN had lots of height talent and hype. Apex still won.

Way back in the day James worthy and Sleepy Floyd and one other big name I'm forgetting right now got handled by a team where the tallest player was 6'1" and it wasn't close as best I remember. Wilson Fike was the team and they ZERO D1 players. (81?) Harvey Reid was a hellva coach and those players at an unreal playing level. Basically 5 guards. Pressure D and speed! was his motto.

RE: (28-2) Page vs (27-1) Lake Norman

Sleepy Floyd's Hunter Huss team beat James Worthy's Gastonia Ashbrook team for the state Championship in 1977 at G'boro Grimsley high school. It couldn't happen that way today but back then it was the way it shook out. Ashbrook defeated Smithfield/Selma to play Hunter Huss. Ashbrook had a 3 point lead with 20 some seconds left and lost 60-59. Worthy was a soph. in '77 he graduated in '79. When Carolina defeated Georgetown in '82 for Dean's first Nat'l. Championship It was a special revenge for Worthy over Sleepy Floyd.
