Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

What's up with not allowing NCHSAA certified coaches admittance to the HSOT tourney at Broughton High, why was that decision made HSOT staff, site supposedly all about high school sports, seems kind of contradictory.

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

We don't make those decisions, that is made by the Triangle Education Advancement Foundation, a non-profit that runs the tournament and uses all the money made for college scholarships for local students.

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

I say nick move the tourney to a college arena. gore arena on the campus of campbell university would be a great site. It seats a litle over 3500 and standing room could fit another 1000. I say if you have big time college recruits at least give the other kids a chance to play in a college arena and atmosphere and i'm sure campbell will give profits for scholorships.

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

No matter how good it is, someone always complains.

Dunn is too far from Raleigh and not as many folks would travel.

Used to be in Reynolds. Broughton is a nice venue and it is a smoothly run tournament.

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

I don't anticipate there being a change in venue in the foreseeable future, I personally would not support it. Broughton has history with the tournament, and it's a large HS gym. It is an intimate setting for fans and teams, and we like that it can be a tough ticket to get. It makes the atmosphere so much better.

Campbell does have a very nice facility though!

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

People will come to see good basketball where ever it is played

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

Aii, sorry, but people who live and attend the games at Broughton will not drive to Bowies Creek.

The only alternative would be someplace else in the triangle.

Glad to hear it Nick.

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

I did not know that he NCHSAA passes did not allow high coaches to attend the event. I will not pay $12 to get in. These people need to see what the tournament is really about. I can't say I am surprised thought...just look at Congress...we can't complain about the kids being selfish if we are going to allow pure greed to get in the way of everything.

RE: Coaching passes not accepted at HSOT tourney

Looks like this tournament is headed for a national invitation level and isn't planning to keep the local interest. Shouldn't be long now, you have to treat the locals with more respect than that. already a balck eye with the whole Holly Springs/St.Joseph debacle, those that actually know the situation understand

Bad , I would love that.
