Crown Arena Ugggh!!
Why are they holding the 4A playoffs in that small gym. They had to turn people away with tickets last night while crown colisieum had so many empty seats for the 1A/2A games. Who plans these events because they failed miserably!

Why were not ALL the games in the Coliseum? Too scared to lose a dime? This old guard that runs the NCHSAA really needs to get out and do some research on how to run a real tournament.

I agree with New Hanover Fan above! That arena last night was awful! I didin't even try to go get snacks/drinks because it was so crowded in that area! The parking lot there is a JOKE! Sorry about all the "!'s", but everyone around us was complaining. REALLY TERRIBLE PLACE FOR 4A TOURNAMENTS!!

I may be wrong, but its my understanding they flip-flopped the Coliseum and Arena from who played there last year so that the 1A's would get a chance to play in the larger venue. I assume there was a contract. Don't know why they chose Fayetteville in the first place, but do think they try to move it around some, and the central part of the state is the most logical.

Fayetteville won the bid for the regionals after the hospital in Greenville stopped sponsoring it. The coliseum, arena is great because of the parking and the proximity of the two venues. I don't know any where in the east you could have it. I mean they could have done like Greenville and had the girls play in the smaller arena and the boys play in the coliseum but then would we be saying that girls basketball is not important. It is what it is.The only reason it was bad last night was because of the 2 local teams. Pine forest & hoke county were both within a 15 - 30 minute ride from the arena. Hoke county had more people there than both New hanover & Millbrook combined. Yes the coliseum probably seats double than the arena but I can remember last years regional final & both teams fans could have fit in the arena with room to spare.I mean new hanover you should have been right
at home since you play in Old Brogden Hall.

Wow, so we putting down Brodgen Hall? You must have lost to us. Anyway Brodgen Hall is pretty much the same seating as Crown Arena. Evidently they sold more tickets than the arena could hold and didnt account on the free press and whoever else got free admission. They were going around asking people if they were leaving so they could get other people in, does that sound like it was organized? Why not just have all the games in the big coliseum? So what they start play times earlier, at least parents would be able to get to see their child play in one of the biggest games of the year.

New hanover fan I agree. I don't understand the press confrences on Mondsy. They couldd somehow have Finals on both Friday & sat if they worked it out correctly. The staff at the nchsaa said they sold only the allotted amount that the arena holds. The problem came in with the pods and having 2 teams close in proximity playing each other. I feel they should wait until they know who is playing who and the proximity of the teams to see where they will put the teams. i knew when hoke was going to play pineforest that it was going to be a mess for parking and seats.

Not a fan friendly venue at all. After I got to my seat, with the place packed, it was a challenge to get to the vendors to even buy a bottle of water. Not at all worth the $9.00 ticket price.

It's not well designed, but then again it's in Fayetteville. Truely, there are not a lot of other choices. I personally did not like the Greenville set up. What venue would be better?
