Posted November 19, 2012

Veteran head football coach Mike Brill has announced his retirement as coach at Lumberton High School, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

Brill spent 16 seasons in Robeson County, including the last several since 2007 at Lumberton. He also had coached at South Robeson. His career mark as a head coach was 132-64. Lumberton lost in the first round of the NCHSAA 4-AA football playoffs to Jack Britt by a score of 28-14.

Brill said he had not ruled out a return to coaching in the future, possibly in South Carolina.
