The Stanly County Board of Education has announced that the gymnasium at North Stanly High School will be named in honor of Lonnie Chandler.

Chandler was a teacher and coach at North Stanly for the better part of four decades. He coached the women’s basketball team for 33 years and his teams earned a whopping 556 victories.
