Local players selected to girls soccer all-star game

Rosters for the N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star Girls Soccer Game were released on Saturday, and a number of area athletes are included on the list.

Local selections include Cailyn Boch (Millbrook), Madison Britt (Lumberton), Regan Collins (Fike), Kaycie Evans (North Johnston), Christian Heggie (Washington), Carolina Houser (Carrboro), Emma Houser (Carrboro), Colleen Markey (Millbrook), Emma Jane Proctor (Fike), and Shayla Thorne (Tarboro).

The girls soccer all-star game will be played on July 22 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro soccer stadium. The game is slated to begin at 6 p.m., and will be followed by the boys soccer all-star game at 8 p.m.

Athletes must be seniors and must be nominated by their coaches to be eligible for the NCCA East-West All-Star Games.

All-star games are also held for boys and girls basketball, as well as football.
