Lee County shuts out Northwood, 35-0

Lee County shut out Northwood, 35-0 in Pittsboro Friday night. After an opening quarter with turnovers galore, Lee County's Colin Johnson connected with Jordan Terrell for a 35 yard score that put the Jackets up for good, 7-0. Notre Dame commit Jahmir Smith then scored on two straight runs to give the Yellow Jackets a 21-0 lead. Jucobie Minter then added a punt return for a touchdown from 87 yards out to give Lee County a 35-0 lead late in the third.

The Yellow Jackets would hang on for the shut out spoiling Northwood's home and season opener. The Chargers are at Jordan-Matthews next week at 7:00 pm. Lee County travels to Holly Springs in Week 2 at 7:00 pm.
