A basket in the final seconds of Tuesday night's girls basketball game between Jordan and Hillside lifted the Falcons to a big PAC 6 win over Hillside, 52-51.
Sophomore forward Salita Green grabbed an offensive rebound and scored the putback basket with eight seconds left to give the Falcons a one-point lead that Hillside couldn't overcome.
Both teams played even in the first quarter, as they entered the second period in a 18-18 tie. Hillside started the second quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 27-18 lead, but Jordan made a 12-0 run of its own to take a 30-27 lead going into the halftime break.
The Falcons built on that lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Hornets 14-10.
But Hillside made a comeback in the fourth, holding the Falcons to just six points until Green hit the game-winner.
Green, who also battled foul trouble in the second half, led Jordan with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Bayley Coleman-Cox was the only other Falcon in double-digits with 10 points.
The Hornets were led by Mylea McKennith's 15 points and Justine Lyon's 11 points.
Tuesday's loss is the first conference loss of the season for Hillside.
