Jack Britt's Murphy picks UNC-Pembroke

Jack Britt athlete Quintin Murphy will play college football at UNC-Pembroke this fall, according to his high school coach.

Brian Rimpf, the head football coach at Jack Britt, confirmed Murphy's commitment to late Thursday.

Murphy plays multiple positions for the Buccaneers, including wide receiver, defensive back, running back, kick return and punt return.

This past season, Murphy caught 50 passes for 637 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried the ball 22 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

Jack Britt finished the season with a 9-4 overall record. The Bucs fell to Garner in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-AA state playoffs.
