Northern Guilford blanks Hunt for win

Greensboro, N.C. — Hunt (13-1, 5-0 Big East) fell 44-0 to Northern Guilford (14-0) Friday night.
Northern Guilford started fast, Malik Parkertook the opening kick-off 65 yards to the Hunt 27 yard line. Chris Ripberger finished the drive with a touchdown run to put Northern Guilford up 6-0.
University of North Carolina recruit TJ Logan added to it with an 11-yard touchdown run.
In the second quarter, Logan brought more with an eight-yard touchdown run. They would go for the two-point conversion and get it.
Ripberger playing both sides of the ball, came up with an interception on Hunt's Daniel Westbrook. Ripberger would return it to the four-yard line, setting up another Logan touchdown.
Hunt struggled offensively, Northern Guilford's Tre Purcell sacked Westbrook for a safety, putting Northern Guilford up 30-0.
On the last play of the half, Austin Coltrane looked deep and found Logan again. At the half Northern Guilford led 37-0 and would keep Hunt scoreless until the end.
Northern Guilford faces Charlotte Catholic (13-1) on Dec. 1 at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem at 7 p.m. for the 3AA State finals.
