Holiday Invitational provides intriguing match-ups

Match-ups for the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational are set, and college basketball fans will find plenty to like. 

Top commitments to North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina and Duke University are all in the field, and spectators will also get to evaluate the talents of the national top-ranked player in the Class of 2015, St. Joseph, N.J., center Karl Towns. 

The 2012 Holiday Invitational features 20 boys basketball teams and eight girls basketball teams, making up four separate tournaments.

Broughton High School's Holliday Gymnasium and Cary Academy's Fitness Center will play host to the Holiday Invitational again this season. The event begins on Dec. 26 and runs through Dec. 29.

The Mix 101.5 Girls Bracket includes Broughton, Cary Academy, Dudley, East Wake, Hillside, Holly Springs, Myers Park and Rocky Mount. The girls games will be played at Cary Academy, with the exception of the championship game, which will be played at Broughton on Dec. 29, at 5:40 p.m.

Garner, a defending Holiday Invitational champion, will headline the 4-team tournament. The Trojans will be joined by Dudley, Goldsboro and Leesville Road. The championship game is scheduled for 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 27.

The Shavlik Randolph Foundation Bracket includes Broughton, Cuthbertson, DeSoto (Texas), Hampton (Va.), Holly Springs, Kinston, Person and St. Joseph (N.J.) The championship game will be played on Dec. 29, at 7:20 p.m.

The Summit Hospitality Bracket features Apex, Clinton, Greenfield, High Point Christian, J.F. Webb, Miller School (Va.), New Hampton (N.H.) and Word of God. The championship game is slated for 9:00 p.m., on Dec. 29.

All boys games will be played at Broughton.

Dec. 26: Garner vs. Goldsboro (12:40), Leesville Road vs. Dudley (2:20)

Shavlik Randolph Foundation Bracket

Dec. 26: Broughton vs. Person (4:00), Holly Springs vs. St. Joseph (NJ) (5:40)

Dec. 27: Kinston vs. DeSoto (TX) (5:40), Cuthbertson vs. Hampton (VA) (9:00)

Dec. 26: Word of God vs. Apex (9:00), J.F. Webb vs. Clinton (7:20)

I don't think the information above is correct. Karl Towns plays for St. Joe's Metuchen NJ The New Hampton player people will want to see is Noah Vonleh who is considering UNC among others.
