Hillside safety picks up NC State offer

Hillside High School safety Kalen McCain picked up an offer from NC State on Wednesday, Hillside football coach Antonio King said.

McCain, a member of the Class of 2014, stands at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds.

Last season, McCain recorded 40 tackles, five pass breakups, four interceptions and two forced fumbles. He returned one interception for a touchdown.

McCain also received an offer from Louisville recently, his first offer on the table.

Hillside posted an 8-3 record last season, winning the PAC 6 4-A Conference title and falling to Southeast Guilford in the first round of the state playoffs.
