Hillside High School defensive back Korrin Wiggins won't suit up for the Tar Heels this fall.
Wiggins announced on Wednesday he will sign with Clemson, picking the Tigers over North Carolina and Ohio State.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior verbally committed to UNC before the 2012 football season, along with teammate and running back Khris Francis. Wiggins recently took a visit to Clemson, helping to spark new interest in the program.
Francis will play for the Heels next fall.
According to Rivals.com, Wiggins is a 3-star player and ranked the No. 14 player from the Class of 2013 from North Carolina.
Wiggins also had offers from Duke, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.
Last season, Hillside compiled an 8-3 overall record, winning the PAC 6 Conference championship with a 7-0 league record. The Hornets lost in the first round of the state playoffs.
