Hillside boys win midwest track & field regional

Greensboro, N.C. — Hillside's boys track & field team took home the championship at the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-A Midwest Regional at Dudley High School in Greensboro on Saturday.
Marcus Krah led the Hornets to the team title, placing first in long jump, triple jump, 110 meter hurdles, and running the first leg for the first-place 4x100 meter relay team.
Krah's long jump was measured at 23-07.25, well ahead of second place Jordan Johnson of East Forsyth who jumped a distance of 22-01.50. Jordan's Kah'lil Pettiford was third at 22-01.00, while Krah's teammate Myles Dillon placed fourth with a distance of 21-09.25.
The triple jump was also a gold medal for Krah. The senior won the event in convincing fashion with a distance of 47-02.00. West Forsyth's Wilbert Chagula was second with a distance of 44-06.50.
Krah won the 110 meter hurdles be more than a full second, placing a time of 13.49 seconds. High Point Central's Raymonte Dow was second with a time of 14.61, followed by Davie County's Avery Williford at 15.11 seconds.
Hillside's 4x100 meter relay team of Krah, Dillon, Lonnie Kendall and Jaylan Mitchell narrowly edged Dudley and High Point Central for the gold medal. Hillside's team finished in 42.85 seconds, while Dudley and High Point Central finished with times of 42.95 and 42.97 respectively.
Najee Reams also brought home a gold medal for Hillside. Reams ran the 400 meter dash in 49.52 seconds, beating Parkland's Kyndel Dean's time of 49.86. Hillside's Tahj Hall placed fifth in the event with a time of 50.06.
West Forsyth finished second in the team standings with 73.5 points. Mount Tabor was third in the team standings with 56 points.
