Hickory basketball player ties NC 3-point record

A Hickory High School basketball standout has put his name in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Record Book.
Raheim Connolly of Hickory helped lead the Red Tornadoes to a 93-90 overtime victory over Fred T. Foarad in men’s basketball action on Tuesday night, and he was terrific from beyond the three-point arc.
Connolly tied the state record with seven three-pointers in one quarter—he hit his in the first eight minutes of play. He wound up with nine three-pointers for the game and a total of 32 points.
