The championship match is set for the 2014 Wake County Cup.
Cardinal Gibbons and Sanderson will meet in the championship match after both teams won semifinal match-ups at Cardinal Gibbons on Monday night.
Sanderson defeated Apex in the first semifinal, 1-0. The lone goal came in the 38th minute when Daniel Bascunan-Wiley found the back of the net.
Gibbons' win over Millbrook was a convincing 3-0 final.
The Crusaders took an early 1-0 lead over the Wildcats in the seventh minute when Cameron Stutts found Kyle Rhoder for the score. That score held through halftime.
In the second half, Cardinal Gibbons began to give itself a cushion. Nathan Kirsch scored on an empty net in the 57th minute after goalkeeper Noah Davison couldn't corral a kick.
The final score of the game came in the 70th minute from Cesar Palacios. Palacios missed a penalty kick but got the rebound and scored.
Cardinal Gibbons and Sanderson will meet in the championship on Sept. 19 at Cardinal Gibbons. The third place match between Apex and Millbrook will also be played on Sept. 19 at Cardinal Gibbons.
Meanwhile at Heritage High School on Monday night, Garner fell to Raleigh Charter in the consolation semifinals 4-2, while Heritage fell to Green Hope 4-1.
Green Hope will take on Raleigh Charter in the fifth place game on Sept. 18, while Garner and Heritage will play in the seventh place game. Both games will be played at Cardinal Gibbons.
Apex is the defending Wake County Cup champion.
