— Former Garner High School basketball player Thomas Allen has committed to North Carolina State University.

Allen, who has transferred to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire for his senior season, announced his commitment on Twitter. "I'm staying home. Raleigh," the tweet read with a photo of Allen with NC State basketball coach Mark Gottfried.

Last season, Allen averaged over 21 points per game for the Trojans, helping the team to a N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-A Eastern Regional Championship appearance.

As a sophomore, Allen averaged 18 points per game, leading the team in scoring as Garner won its first ever boys basketball state championship.

Allen played varsity basketball all three seasons at Garner, earning numerous all-conference and all-area awards.

Allen is listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds on 247Sports.com, which rates him a four-star prospect at the shooting guard position.
