Wake Forest-Rolesville scored the first 21-points, but the Cougars had to hang on to defeat Southern Durham 24-17.
Marcus Jones scored first for Wake Forest-Rolesville off a 15-yard run in the opening quarter. The George Lopez extra-point gave the Cougars an early 7-0 lead.
The Cougars built on their lead in the second quarter.
John Conyers ran into the end zone from one-yard out, and Chris Love converted the two-point attempt to put Wake Forest-Rolesville up 15-0.
Later in the quarter, Love broke a 21-yard run to score a touchdown. Lopez's extra-point failed.
The Cougars led the Spartans 21-0 at the half.
In the third quarter, Southern Durham's defense recorded a safety to put the Spartans on the scoreboard for the first time.
Southern Durham made a push in the fourth quarter to get back in the game.
Dorian Belcher caught an 11-yard pass from Darien Bullock for a touchdown, then Belcher completed a pass to Jahmieh Johnson for two-points.
Southern Durham trailed 21-10.
Wake Forest-Rolesville's only second half points came from Lopez when he hit a 35-yard field goal to push the Cougar lead to 24-10.
The Spartans didn't quit though.
Javonte Partridge completed a short pass to Justin Dukes inside the five-yard line for a touchdown.
But Southern Durham ran out of time.
Wake Forest-Rolesville (3-0) will play Clayton (2-1) next week. Southern Durham (0-3) will travel to Douglas Byrd (3-0) next week.
