After being washed out Friday, Southern Durham and Jordan finally took to the field Monday and for the Spartans, it was worth the wait as they won 48-18.
Southern Durham built an earlt 14-0 lead and Kept their foot on the gas. An early drive looked like it would stall, but a fake bunt option run by Kameron Johnson extended the drive and moved them deep into Jordan territory. Jordan held after Aaron Harris recovered a Kendall Hinton Fumble.
Then Jordan got on the board in the second quarter as Termayne Sallim took a screen pass and dove for the pylon. A blocked extra point made the game 14-6.
Then scoring happened quick. First one-handed catch by Jamario Johnson started a long Southern Durham touchdown play with three minutes to go before half.
Jordan responded with a long score of their own by Trevon McClary with two minutes before half and it was a 21-12 game.
Southern Durham needed just one play to answer again as a screen pass to Maurice Trowell went the distance.
Then in the final seconds of the first half, A Trowell catch and run followed by a catch in double coverage by Jason Henderson gave the Spartans one last shot at the endzone. On the final play of the half, as time expired, Hinton threw up a hail mary that was hauled in by Johnson. at the goalline.
The Spartant took a 35-12 lead into the break and went on to the easy 48-18 win.
Southern Durham (3-4, 2-1 PAC 6) hosts Riverside next week, while Jordan (1-6, 0-3 PAC 6) travels to Hillside.
