Green Hope held off Apex's chance at their first Tri-Nine win Friday night with a 13-7 win.
Six minutes before the half, Green Hope was leading Apex 3-0 and looking to add to it. Green Hope's Chris Tutwiler was intercepted, though, by Tim Darcelien.
The turnover led to a 1-yard score by Ian Boyd and Apex took a 7-3 lead into the half.
Green Hope bounced back on top in the third quarter when John Nasiff went play-action called his own number, broke a tackle and scored from seven yards out.
The Falcons took a 10-7 lead and held on to win 13-7.
Apex (1-4, 0-4 Tri-Nine) hosts Athens Drive next week, while Green Hope (4-2, 2-1 Tri-Nine) goes on the road to play Fuquay-Varina.
