Undefeated Leesville Road hosted conference rival Wake Forest-Rolesville Friday night in the second round of the NCHSAA state football playoffs.
Leesville Road's original starting qb, Austin Berrios, has missed the last few games with a torn ACL but his brother Braxton has filled in fine as he helped build a 28-0 halftime lead over Wake Forest-Rolesville.
But the Cougars attempted to make it a game of it in the third. Seth Hall took it right up the gut from 20 yards out and the score, putting Wake Forest-Rolesville on the board, 28-7.
But Leesville Road wasn't going to have a comeback. After a few tough runs from DJ Hunt, Barrios scores a touchdown from five yards out, putting the Pride up 35-7.
After a Leesville interception, Barrios finds tight end Jake Woodwrow, who takes it all the way to the seven. And then from five yards again, Barrios scores the rushing touchdown.
Leesville Road wins, 49-20 and will face Garner next round.
